Are there any other children's writers here?

Hello,

I'm new to W&A - just joined today. I'd really like to get some feedback on some of my work, but I don't think I fit with everyone else's genres. I've been writing children's picture book stories in rhyme. Can anyone suggest where I can find some like-minded writers? Also, I feel a bit apprehensive about sharing my work here - if it is in a public forum like this, does that affect the chances of it being published in any way?

Thanks,

Rachael

Hello I am dabbling in children's books at the minute, be happy to share ideas with you. There is also Authonomy, a free online service run through HarperCollins. Its packed with books, advice and friendly authors. It's a good place to check out what else is out there and get constructive criticism on your own work.

There are lots of us here, I think! :)

Since we retain the rights when we share work here, and we can delete our shared work whenever we choose to, it would not affect chances of publication, as far as I know.

Thanks Leo. I haven't joined a writers group locally - they don't seem to have any children's writers in them! I can't find any specific groups in Writer's Forum either. I will just keep searching, but if there are more of us here, that would be a good start :)
