Hello everyone,
I sent a few queries out for my first MS a while back and had a request for the full MS from one agent about 10 days ago. Of course, I sent it straight away! I'm trying not to get excited because I know the chances are still so incredibly small of getting representation, but I just wanted to ask how long it generally takes from request for full MS to a decision? Is it as long as from submission to response? Obviously it depends on the agent and their decision, but I'm just wondering whether the longer it takes, the less likely it's good news?
Any insight welcome!
Amy
Amy, are you on Twitter? I joined specifically to try to make connections with authors, agents and other writers but I'll admit to a few others such as rugby people. It's working for me so far. If you'd like to follow me (can't believe I'm typing this - feels a bit naff ha ha- social networking was never my thing!) it's @WelshDragonParr.
:)
Have you had a good Christmas and started the next manuscript?
Nothing yet, hope springs eternal :)
I should think it will be Jan/Feb/March now so I'm going to do my best to put it to the back of my mind for the festive period and finally start my second MS!
If it's a no, I'll do a post on 'how I cope with rejection' haha :)
Personalised rejections are definitely a good sign, I have had a few templates and it's so nice to get something more in depth. Keep me posted, I'll do likewise! :)
Thank you! So far I've had 4 rejections but 2 have been personalised and I've had feedback. Most of it very positive. Apparently that's a good sign...hope so!
I presume you're still waiting?
p.s. I love a good bit of YA. Patrick Ness is my favourite.
