Hi

I am new and yes I know that this question has probably been asked a thousand times but .......I would love to hear of what helps people when they have full time jobs to get their bottoms in the chair and get the writing done. Currently i'm only managing about 3,000 words a week and feeling frustrated....any creative solutions?

Big Thanks

Andrea, I wish I could write half as much as you can in a week! Mark’s circumstances are exactly like mine - I work full time and have a young daughter, too.

I’ve been in a bit of a slump over the past few months (rethinking and restarting my novel) but I am thinking about how I can turn this around. One method that has worked for me in the past is using my lunch breaks at the office to write or work on story development… I need to get back into doing this instead of reading news articles online!

Also remember that you can spend time editing if you're finding your creativity is failing you.

I work part time and don't always manage 3000 a week. Some weeks I manage to write every evening and get far more done but some weeks I just can't get my brain into creative mode. I guess it's worth remembering there's no rush!
