Thanks Cressida. I emailed them straightaway without any response so followed it up by another, asking for the return of my original memory stick containing the manuscript for obvious reasons of security. I have still not heard back in over a week.
I think in those circumstances you could ask for more feedback, as they were initially encouraging. Drop them a quick email or call and just ask what made them turn you down.
