I've been a member of this site for years and always found there were people willing to leave feedback for other users to improve their writing... Now the site seems to have dwindled and the users posting work are no longer receiving the great feedback I love this site for. I understand people have lives and are busy, but it really is a shame to see a site go from being well used to users seemingly ignore one another's work 😔 Hopefully when times are less busy for everyone the feedback will commence

Sorry for the lack of response. I've been so busy with university work I forgot to check my question to see if anyone had responded! I thank you all for your responses and hope no one has taken offence to my post. I completely understand some people just aren't comfortable with critiquing people's work nor is everyone going to find a piece necessarily appealing if it is not something they would read. While I agree with you and the responses, acknowledgement works both ways. I have commented in the past. I am not an expert and still finding my way. It is helpful to know whether my comments have been useful. It also helps me to learn when comparing feedback from those who are more experienced. However, some people have posted pieces, received feedback and then not responded to that feedback. It even happens in this part of the site. This has discouraged me from commenting. I now tend to look at how posters have responded (or not) before I decide to give my time. This is not about ego, but courtesy; even if it's to say that you don't agree with my points.
And may I add to the chorus of praise for Lorraine. I do not have any work on the site, but your answers to questions have been VERY helpful and thought-provoking. Thank you for generously sharing your time and wisdom.
