Do you intend to design the cover for your Novel?

Will you leave the cover design to the publisher, or will you, like me want to exercise some control in the design process, and the blurb on the back cover?

Jon.

I intend to use the traditional route to publish.

I hope that I will secure the agent/agency that I have researched.

If I hook an agent/agency then I will discuss the cover design and all aspects of my novel with the agent.

The manuscript will not be sent to a publisher until the agent and I are satisfied with my novel.

I will be guided by the agent as they have the experience in dealing with all aspects of novels with publishers.

Adrian - handing your book to a publisher means you lose control of it. What Mark said is quite right - you can complain if you don't like the selected cover but you've no right of veto. One of the downsides of not self-pubbing.

Of course, your publisher might like your suggestion, even your blurb. Or not. The frame must suit the surroundings, not the artist ;)
